About Cape Smalls Oysters

Cape Small is a bold and rocky point delineating the Eastern most point of Casco Bay, marking the start of Mid Coastal Maine. Tucked into Small Point Harbor, just off Hermit’s Island, these sweet and tiny oysters receive a twice daily dose of fresh phytoplankton to munch on with each and every rising tide!

Cape Small Farm was started by John and his mom, Jillian in 2016. Currently this boutique farm produces a relatively small quantity (under 20,000 oysters/year), but has plans to produce more in the future with our newly hired farm director - Alex. Surface cage grown and utilizing hand sorting and shaking techniques. These oysters are characterized by a nicely cupped shell and a crisp, clean finish.

A customer favorite, John and Alex's sweet bivalve treats are often slurped in our Taste of Maine Kit, Variety Packages, or in bulk.

We just ate them all! Literally, perfect. The package, the presentation, the product. Awesome!

Jacob Greenwood ,

Thank you! They were amazing. And we appreciate the “heavy pour” and new shucking knife - which I really liked using. Appreciate you sending them off-cycle. We were loving the club - but now more so than every.

Jim ,

You’re my new addiction ... tastier than shoes ... although I keep ordering those as well lol
