The Basin Oyster Project (BOP) is an oyster shellfish restoration effort in Phippsburg, Maine managed by a collaborative group that includes institutions, enterprises & individuals.

A project inherited from the Nature Conservancy in 2019  our work is focused on  education & quantifiable direct benefit to the local ecosystems.

We have partnered with the New Meadows River Shellfish Coop to buy their non-viable commercially sold oysters, called "doubles" or "uglies" to help build our reef!
