What to Expect & Bring?
The total oyster farm tour experience lasts for approx 2 hrs with half of this time on the water & half off. Even on the warmest days it can get chilly on the ocean thus we recommend dressing in layered clothing.
The tour flow is as follows, but can be customized as this is your private Maine experience!
- Arrive at Basecamp Lodge, 47 Wallace Circle, Phippsburg, ME
- Welcome, overview, education & safety talks
- Hop on the boat and head over the farm w/ time spent on the "farm float" and eating some oysters!
- Oyster shucking class back at Basecamp Lodge.
Suggested Checklist of Items to Bring
- Layered, comfortable clothing
- Bathing Suit (can swim off floats)
- Hat, Sunscreen, Bug Spray
- BYOB Alcoholic beverages
Basecamp Lodge is our private facility. All guests are welcome to stay & enjoy the space & area for as long as they would like after the official oyster farm tour experience has finished.
If an oyster farm tour is not quite right for you, our family member Joe & his business North East Salt Water operate out of the same venue & he offers family fishing & striper fishing charter tours to take a look at as well!
