We are a startup oyster company that is not limited to our brick and mortar raw bar in Portland having a distribution center/ events space in Phippsburg, Basecamp, that includes a saltwater aquarium for research and our very own oyster farm!We are a multi faceted organization and as much a community as a company.
The ideal candidate will be stoked about learning many aspects of a small business within a work environment where there is never a dull moment, they will have flexibility of schedule, ability to drive once or twice a week to Phippsburg and have food and beverage experience.
This job will be focused on growing & coordinating our farm tours, shucking classes, lobster bakes, small catered events & partnerships with local Maine Businesses such as Maine Beer Company.
Our raw bar located in Portland is looking for part time (and potential full time) help. Oyster shucking and/or food and beverage experience strongly recommended. We have a small, rustic space with a small patio for outdoor dining that will be expanding in the coming years! We focus on the experience of the guests, providing education on the industry, shucking classes, and a whole lot of fun!
Maine Oyster Company is a multi faceted organization and as much a community as a company. We distribute oysters country-wide at our facility (Basecamp) in Phippsburg that doubles as an event space. Our Cape Small oyster farm is only a 10 minute boat ride away!
Our mission is to build an all inclusive oyster & aquaculture community that connects, farmers, oyster lovers, the state of Maine & our collective industry together under one bivalve awesome roof.
